Leader in me

North Tamarind is a Leader In Me School

North Tamarind Elementary School has been a Leader in Me School since 2018.

At North Tamarind Elementary, our Leader in Me program empowers students with leadership and life skills to thrive in school and beyond. Rooted in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, this program fosters a culture of student ownership, goal setting, and personal responsibility. Through daily practice, students develop essential skills such as collaboration, problem-solving, and resilience. Leadership opportunities are embedded throughout the school, allowing students to take initiative in their learning and contribute positively to the school community. By embracing a leadership mindset, we cultivate a school environment where every child sees their potential and takes active steps toward achieving their personal and academic goals.

Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS)

North Tamarind Cougars PAWS - Practice Respect, Act Responsibly, Work Together, Safety First.

At North Tamarind Elementary, we are in our first year of implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for all students. Our school-wide expectations, PAWSPractice Respect, Act Responsibly, Work Together, and Safety First—guide student behavior in all areas of campus. Through PBIS, we focus on teaching and reinforcing positive behaviors, recognizing and rewarding students for making good choices. Our goal is to build a strong foundation of support that fosters a positive school culture, encourages student success, and strengthens relationships between students, staff, and families. By setting clear expectations and consistently acknowledging positive behavior, we are working to create a school environment where all students feel valued and motivated to do their best.
